Took a walk before lunch. Down Monroe Street, around the corner, along Washington under the trees that line Memorial Field. An older man walked toward me, about a half block ahead along the same sidewalk. He walked slowly with the help of a cane.
As we approached, I stepped off the curb to give him plenty of room. We smiled at each other. I said “Good morning!” He replied, “Isn’t it a beautiful day?” I agreed, “Yes, it is!” We beamed at each other in the glory of sun, sky, and light breeze in spring. After passing, I stepped back up onto the sidewalk. A few paces later, in dappled light, noticed maple seeds sprinkled across the sidewalk. Just sprinkled at first, then more, still more, until they covered the sidewalk from curb to grass. A carpet of small green helicopter seeds, each holding the potential for new life in the coming year.
Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:8
Where we are now in Arizona, stuck due to travel issues but not complaining, the cacti are showing their new life blossoms. It is inspiring and humbling to see that flash of white 30 feet up on a saguaro over 150 years old. And the saguaro are often riddled with holes, affording shelter to birds and little bats. It brings such peace to watch them live together!

When my neighbor sees me outdoors, she always shouts ” Another beautiful day in Paradise, Carolyn”. Even when the winds are howling and snow is flying, it is always another beautiful day in paradise reminder from her. How lucky I am to live in this breath taking paradise community.
Happy Another Beautiful Day in Paradise to You.

I love that practice — especially in the howling wind and flying snow! And Happy Another Beautiful Day in Paradise to You, too, Carolyn.
